What is Xeomin?
Xeomin, or incobotulinumtoxinA, is an injectable prescription medication approved by the FDA to reduce the appearance of frown lines. The active ingredient interferes with the chemical process that instigates muscle contractions in the treated area.
By targeting nerve endings in the area, muscle contractions are decreased. As a result, visible lines can diminish or vanish, leaving you with a smooth, youthful appearance.
Xeomin Benefits
Unlike Botox, which has the same active ingredient, Xeomin contains no additional unnecessary additives. With fewer ingredients, there is less likelihood that your body will become resistant to the treatment. In addition, this is truly a “naked” toxin and while allergic reactions to Botox are highly unlikely, the risk for reactions is reduced with Xeomin because the body may have a lesser chance of developing antibodies to the “naked” toxin.
