Discover The Amazing Tixel Treatment
Tixel gives extraordinary results in treating a wide range of conditions. Tixel uses thermo-mechanicalablation technology (TMA) to provide anti-aging improvements to the skin tone and texture, giving it a radiant and youthful appearance. Tixel delivers results that are comparable to deep skin peels and intensive laser treatments, with much less downtime, less pain and faster recovery times.
Tixel treatment is ideal for those seeking smoother, more radiant and revitalised looking skin, but who are worried about downtime. The added benefit is that it continues to deliver results that improve over time and can last for several years (as it is your own collagen that produces the effects).
What is it for?
✓ Skin tightening, to improve skin tone and texture
✓ Skin rejuvenation (facial skin, neck and décolletage)
✓ Acne and acne scarring
✓ Lines and wrinkles
✓ Eye lift, for sagging eyelids or eyebags
✓ Uneven pigmentation and melasma
✓ Rosacea
✓ Stretch marks
How it works
Tixel uses a small heated metal plate of multiple tiny heated cones. This is passed over the face and neck, delivering short bursts of heat energy directly to the skin’s surface, without damaging deeper skin tissues. This stimulates collagen production, which in turn tightens the skin.

What can I expect during the treatment?
Anesthetic cream can be applied for 30 minutes beforehand if required (however this is not always necessary). The machine is hand held with the metal plate passing directly onto the skin for a fraction of a second, delivering a short burst of heat, within each section of the skin until the whole treatment area has been covered. Treatment time is usually 30-60 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on the treatment mode and the individual. More aggressive sessions can lead to more complications, but may achieve results faster than less aggressive treatments. Most people start off with less aggressive treatments until they determine how their skin reacts and some people start to see results after just one treatment. However, for best results, the recommended treatment is a course of 3-6 sessions spaced ideally 4-6 weeks apart, with a treatment every 6 or 12 months thereafter.
How do I know which treatment to have?
The medical staff at LaVida Med Spa will fully explore the treatment options during your initial consultation appointment and advise you on the best treatment plan based on your skin condition, skin type, the result you would like to achieve.
Pre-Treatment Instructions:
- If you are prone to cold sores, please inform us so that we can prescribe a preventative antiviral medication for the day before, day of, and day after treatment
- Avoidance of topical steroids, antibiotics, retinoids, alpha/beta-hydroxys and hydroquinone for a week prior
- Patients with melasma and hormonal pigmentation WILL need 4 weeks of skin preparation by avoiding sun exposure, daily use of spf, and an optional melanin inhibitor to maximize results. Can discontinue melanin inhibitor 3 days prior and restart in 3-7 days when skin returns back to normal sensation
Day of Treatment Instructions:
- Arrive with clean washed skin
- Inform provider of any changes in medical history
- Inform provider of all medications you are taking and any topicals you are using
Post Treatment Instructions:
- Redness, swelling and sunburn sensation for 24 hours is expected
- Try to sleep on back to minimize swelling as needed
- Treat skin gently, cleanse face no earlier than 6 hours post treatment. Use cool water, clean fingertips only, gentle cleanser and pat dry with a clean towel
- Apply recommended post treatment regimen
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers and direct sunlight for 48h
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure for 7-10 days and even if indirectly exposed, wear a minimum of spf 30 DAILY
- Use Tylenol or Ibuprofen as needed for mild tenderness and swelling.
Day 2 ( day after treatment ):
- Cleanse AM/PM, avoid exfoliants or any active ingredients in cleansers/serums/moisturizers. Even the over the counter products may contain ingredients which may irritate post treatment skin.
- YOU CAN WEAR SUNSCREEN AND MAKEUP THE FOLLOWING DAY.
- Dry skin and bronze microdots (stamp marks) will be present, do not pick, scratch or scrub at treated skin. Let skin flake off naturally.
Day 3-7:
- Skin will feel dry and rough like sandpaper, pigment will slowly soften and fade, microdots will gradually flake off. We recommend use of your post care kit until your redness and sensitivity are gone.
Day 7+:
- Microdots will continue to flake off and fade. Continue with SPF daily and slowly re-introduce regular skincare routine. If you use a serum or cleanser or moisturizer and your skin turns red or starts to burn, your skin is not ready for your regular products! Be gentle.
